Thomson writes to the publisher thanking them for their payment for his original drawing entitled "Thank heaven you are safe," an illustration for: Esmond. A one penny British postage stamp (red with George V profile) is pasted on the bottom of the letter, and Thomson has signed his name over the stamp with the date.
